It all started with a royal wedding, and ended with the most famous beer fest in Europe, and probably in the world. With over 6 million people attending every year, the event is once again expected to be a massive celebration of everything that is Bavarian. From the incredible food and fine Munich beers, to traditional dress and music, the beer tents will once again pack out with people from all over the world.
Oktoberfest in Munich will open its gates on September 22 in the Schottenhamel tent and it will last until October 7. Like always, there is no fee to enter the festival or the beer-tents. But, because of the popularity of the festival, visitors better make a reservation in advance. Children under the age of 6 must leave the area at 8pm at the latest.
