With many attractive events, Bansko Municipality and the tourism industry have managed to attract more tourists this summer compared to the previous years. The goal of the local authority and citizens of Bansko is to turn the town into a year-round resort, not just a popular one during the winter. Hoteliers currently are enjoying many guests, in places the employment is over 80%.
The reasons for the big boom are the numerous festivals and other interesting events – exhibitions, celebrations, demonstrations of old crafts. The water slide in the ski area has become the biggest summer attraction in Bansko attracting thousands of tourists in the mountain.
The municipality renewed the city and the streets, the green spaces were decorated with the works of young artists and sculptors. The prices during the summer are 30-40% lower than the winter, which also attracts tourists here. The resort is preferred during the summer season by both Bulgarians and foreigners. Several thousand came to the jazz festival in early August.
