Volunteers are organizing a mass cleaning of major routes in Pirin Mountain. On the 9th and 10th of September, waste will be collected from the following routes: Banderitza – Vihren mountain huts – lake Muratovo and Vihren mountain hut–mount Vihren.
The goal is to clean up the mountain from as much waste as possible which will then be transferred to local waste processing plants.
Organizers of the event called #CleanTheMountain on Facebook, are Branislav Brankov and Kiril Trifonov from Mountain Talk and Project Big Ice: Patagonia. They confirm that participating is completely voluntarily. Despite of the two-day preparation, however, anyone is free to join whenever they want.
The aim of the initiative is to organize such monthly clean ups of important places throughout our mountain regions. For those of you willing to participate, the start of the initiative is this Saturday, 9th September 9th, at 07:00, gathering at Tzar Boris III Boulevard and Gornobanski road.
