
The Bulgarian MEP from GERB party- Eva Maydell was awarded for a second time the award “Member of the European parliament of the Year” for her contribution to the work of the European Parliament. She was awarded by magazine “Parliament” in the category “New technologies”, reported the press office of GERB. Maydell competed with 2 of her colleges from Greece and Finland.”I would like to thank GERB party for setting the
priorities important for the country and the citizens, and acknowledging the fact that new technologies and innovation are a real opportunity for economy growth” said the Bulgarian MEP.
Education is a key pillar at the program of GERB and a key aspect in it is the development of digital skills, without which we will not be able to compete for the jobs of the future and without which we could
not be a part of an inclusive e-society, “added Maydell, who is one of the initiators of Education Bulgaria 2030, an Ambassador of the European Commission for digital skills and European week of programming. Her work
in the field of new technologies, entrepreneurship and innovation was awarded by prestigious publications such as Politico 28 (2015) and Forbes “30 under 30″ (2016).”
I believe that with my work i contribute to the development of Bulgaria as a digital leader and a regional center of the digital single market in Europe, “said Maydell, who was recently elected as a rapporteur of the EPP Group on the Regulation on the protection of personal data in the electronic communication.
The awarded are given for a twelfth consecutive year to distinguished Members of the EP for their greatest achievements in their fields. In 2015 Maydall was honored in the category “Best new MEP.
