The Villeneuve and Vratsa municipalities will fulfill a green project together, Vratsa’s mayor Kalin Kamenov told the visitors on the first day of the Week of Francophonie. The mayor added that the financing for the project is still not granted.
The pilot event of this year’s Week of Francophonie was an exhibition of paintings, dedicated to french culture. They were painted by children from several schools in Vratsa and are currently exposed in the lobby of the “Razvitie” community center.
“It is a great pleasure for me to give start to the Week of Francophonie, in which there will be plenty of interesting and colorful events”, Kamenov said. The mayor of Vratsa, along with the chairman of the local francophonie’s organisation Emil Penyashki, gave prizes to the children, who painted the scenes.
By the end of the week several themed events are taking place in town. A french delegation, including the youngest senator Loic Herve, mayors of french cities, politicians and diplomats, are special guests to the events.
