The former military division in Devin was transformed into a modern attraction – a thermal aquapark. The complex is part of the family of the five-star SPA Hotel "Persenk" and it will open on July 27th.
The aquapark was built for very short time- about 2 years. It is located just in front of the bus station in Devin, about 200 metres away from the center of the city.
There are six pools, few bars, modern restaurant-garden with barbecue and visitors can cook their own food and enjoy themselves outdoors.
In 2002 the property of nearly 42 decares, on which the military unit is located, was transferred to the municipality.
In 2015 the plovdiv company "ZGP" bought the former military division in Devin and started to build Thermal aquapark "Persenk". Expectations for it are to increase the turnover and profits of SPA Hotel "Persenk" by about 20% and to generate new revenues for the company. Its construction is financed by an investment loan from Unicredit Bulbank AD.
The Aqua Park was also a fact thanks to the state aid to the municipality of Devin. BGN 2 million last year were allocated by the Council of Ministers to replace 11.5 km of mineral water from Bedenski Baths to Devin. The mineral water will benefit all the tourist-oriented businesses in the city.
