The purpose of the local authority is to renovate and reconstruct Bistrica riverbed so it could become a new tourist attraction with a nice pedestrian area and bikeways. It will be a safe place with railings and lighting and the project is completely consistent with the regulation plan of the village of Satovcha.
The municipality is implementing a project called “Thinking about nature, culture and water – being a European tourist”, funded by INTERREG-IPP cross-border programme between Bulgaria and Macedonia for the period 2014 – 2020.
The documentation needed for the tender offer is publicly available at the municipality of Satovcha. The deadline for submission of bids is 30.03.2017, 17:00pm.
A project partner is the Macedonian municipality of Lipkovo. The mentioned project aims an environmental protection, sustainable use of natural resources, diversification of the tourism product on offer in the border regions and creation of new attractions for the tourists.
All of the mentioned above will enable the regions to have a larger contribution to tourism and will increase the tourist flow, which in return will lead to economic development. Part of the approved project is energy efficiency, education initiatives and prevention of disasters. Bistrica riverbed will be completely cleaned and retaining walls will be raised.
A new retaining wall will be built in that section of the river, which shares a border with the football field. A separate pedestrian zone with bikeways and recreation areas will be created as well. Additional seats for the stadium are planned so it could attract more visitors. The two pedestrian bridges will be repaved and will have their guardrails replaced for safety reasons. The wooden footbridge over the river will be replaced with a steel one.
